Parenting Education One-On-One
Age appropriate one-on-one parenting is available upon request. We enroll co-parents into separate groups to promote
full participation and self-reflection. Attending with a partner is encouraged, but not required.

Inner Space
A parent neutral, therapeutic group to assist children with divorce adjustment
and parental conflict. When a family experiences conflict, loss and change, everyone is affected. When separation,
divorce or other disturbances occur, parents may feel overwhelmed and the needs of children may go unnoticed. Parents
may feel that they don't know how to help their children during these times. This is a developmentally appropriate
group experience designed to help children ages 5-6, 7-9, 10-12 & 13-14 navigate these difficult times. 10-12
weeks expressive arts-based therapeutic group facilitated by licensed and intern level therapists. InnerSpace is
designed to:
Create common ground and safety in a fun group setting
Explore the language of feelings and emotions
Learn to understand and empower ourselves
Define and revise roles and relationships in the family
Restore a moral order that is compassionate and supports hope for the future

Roots and Wings
This in-depth parenting group is designed to help people become the parents they want to be, the parents their
children deserve in order to have a safe, secure and loving childhood. The therapeutic group setting helps to develop
insight and understanding while acquiring better skills. During the group sessions, we address the array of personal
issues that compromise or inhibit healthy relationships and the development of positive parenting skills. The psychotherapeutic
Roots and Wings group is facilitated by professional staff of the Integrative Family Therapy program including
licensed and intern level Family Therapists and Clinical Social Workers. The group meets for 2 hours weekly for
12 weeks. Focus areas include:
How your past affects your present
Developing a coherent personal life story
Understanding and managing the emotional challenges of parenting
Understanding the relationship between beliefs, feelings and actions
Understanding the nature of conflict
Understanding the effects of exposure to violence and substance abuse
Developing assertion and communication skills
Developing healthy boundaries

52-Week Parenting
This psycho-educational parenting program is designed for parents who are referred
for extensive parenting education, support, information and guidance. Using a broad range of modalities and experiential
work, these small group and individual services are available upon referral.

Child Focused Cooperative Parenting & Divorce
Designed for all parents who are separated, divorced, or in a court custody case and desire to improve their skills
relating to cooperative parenting and divorce, Child Focused Co-Parenting is an 8 week long group learning class.
Topics include:
Protecting children from conflict
Learning to let go- loss and grief
Understanding long-term parenting roles
Building a working/business relationships with other parent
Negotiating agreements
Seeing through the child's eyes: loving both parents
Defusing conflict
Co-Parenting is FOREVER

Family Violence Reduction - Men and Women
Is anger getting in the way of your relationships with the people you love the most? Come and learn new ways to
recognize and manage your anger. Individual and group instruction is available. Number of weeks varies, based on
need, referral, and court order when appropriate. Topics include:

Men’s Domestic Violence
Child Endangerment
Child Abuse and Neglect
Foundations and Family of Origin
Family Issues
Relapse Prevention
Self-Management
Communication
Intimacy Issues
Violence Prevention Programs are certified by the El Dorado County Probation
Department and meet the California requirements for Batterer’s Intervention Programs.

Anger Management - Teens & Adults
Learn new ways to recognize and manage your angry behavior, so your angry behavior doesn’t end up managing you.
Separate groups available for men, women and teens. Topics include:
